Job Purpose:
Under general supervision of the GIS Manager, the GIS Analyst will collect, compile, organize, and analyze spatial and tabular data to assist in the development of GIS applications. Analysts will also be responsible for updating and maintaining complex database information using current technologies. This position includes a customer service element to provide GIS data and information to external customers.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience collecting business requirements and providing solution design, build, and test plans for deploying GIS applications and solutions following SDLC.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing and supporting GIS interfaces with non-spatial data using SQL and spatial data management in SQL Server, including ESRI’s enterprise geodatabases and geodatabase design, database replication/versioning techniques, and ArcGIS client/ server interface.
• Ability to write GIS strategic planning, policies/procedures, and GIS technical documents with a potential audience of government executives, government technical and non-technical staff.
• Publish GIS data, maps, analysis, reports, charts, and graphs in the form of static and online content.
• Provide GIS system administration, GIS database editing, geocoding, geoprocessing, data conversion, workflow management, spatial analysis, and quality control processes in desktop and web-based environments.
• Develop and maintain GIS files and associated spatial and tabular databases.
• 4+ years of experience working with the Esri software ecosystem (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise.)
• Experience interfacing with clients.
• Support system & online content sharing by integrating GIS and related data.
• Research, create, and produce spatial layers, analysis, maps, reports, charts, and cartographic displays.
• Assist with research and implement new GIS spatial files.
• Assist with the creation of documents and presentations to convey planning recommendations,
division/departmental communication initiatives, and GIS-related technical/business documentation.
• Perform related work as required.
• Must have knowledge of cartography standards, drafting principles, and computer design and graphics software.
• Must have technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex mapping/GIS issues.
• Must have the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other staff; ability to research, collect, organize, and analyze data, and to prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Ability to present ideas and speak effectively to groups.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, Geography, Mathematics, IT, Environmental Planning, GIS Technology, Cartography, Computer Science, or related field required.
• 4+ years of experience with Esri software.
• Experience in a responsible project management role.
• Excellent administrative and organizational capabilities.
• Proven organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and cartographic skills.
• Eagerness to learn and open to feedback.
• Demonstrates professionalism, positive attitude, flexibility, and strong initiative.

This is a remote position.
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
